Cimafunk

Cimafunk est une rockstar afro-cubaine. Son dernier album El Alimento a été nommé aux Grammy Awards dans la catégorie Meilleur Album Latino Rock ou Alternatif. Son nom fait référence à son héritage de cimarrón, les fugitifs marrons qui ont résisté et échappé à l'esclavage, ainsi qu'à l'essence de sa musique qui subverti la musique cubaine à coups de funk, d’afrobeat et de hip hop. Après plusieurs tournées acclamées en Europe et aux Etats-Unis accompagné de La Tribu, son groupe de neuf musiciens havanais, Cimafunk s’est imposé comme un des principaux showman d’aujourd’hui. Ses concerts électriques sont une célébration du groove et une expérience corporelle inoubliable. Cimafunk créé un univers unique, il redéfinit la musique cubaine contemporaine, l'identité afro-latine et la fusion des cultures noires.   Cimafunk is a Grammy-nominated, Afro-Cuban Rockstar. His name refers to his heritage as a “cimarrón,” Cubans of African descent who resisted and escaped slavery, as well as to the essence of his music that aims to subvert classical Cuban rhythms with innovative mixes of funk, afrobeat and hip hop. Cimafunk has received overwhelming praise touring the U.S. and Europe, making a name for himself as one of today’s great showman, performing an electric live show with La Tribu, his 9-person band from Havana. His live show is a celebration of groove and an unforgettable sonic and bodily experience. Cimafunk is redefining contemporary Cuban music as well as Afro-Latin identity and the fusion of black cultures.
