Cimafunk est une rockstar afro-cubaine. Son dernier album El Alimento a été nommé aux Grammy Awards dans la catégorie Meilleur Album Latino Rock ou Alternatif. Son nom fait référence à son héritage de cimarrón, les fugitifs marrons qui ont résisté et échappé à l'esclavage, ainsi qu'à l'essence de sa musique qui subverti la musique cubaine à coups de funk, d’afrobeat et de hip hop. Après plusieurs tournées acclamées en Europe et aux Etats-Unis accompagné de La Tribu, son groupe de neuf musiciens havanais, Cimafunk s’est imposé comme un des principaux showman d’aujourd’hui. Ses concerts électriques sont une célébration du groove et une expérience corporelle inoubliable.
